Duplex Ultrasonography

Duplex Ultrasonography of the blood vessels is an integration of two diagnostic methods: ultrasound and doppler, to diagnose diseases of the venous system: venous thrombosis and venous insufficiency, and atherosclerotic plaques and obstructions in the arterial system: carotid artery, aorta, vertebral arteries and arteries of the upper and lower limbs. It is a rapid and non-invasive method to diagnose aneurysm of the thoracic and the abdominal portions of the aorta. The duplex ultrasonography helps to differentiate between true arterial aneurysm and false arterial aneurysm.

The Institute serves all the departments and the units of the hospital and, in addition, ambulatory patients from the different HMOs in Israel.
